Remote Learning Term 3 – Google Classroom

Hello Platypuses.

This term we will be starting out learning online. Rather than posting work on the Blog I will now be posting your work on google classroom. To access google classroom you will need to login to google using your school google account.

Here are some instructions to help you.

Start by searching for ‘google classroom’ in your internet browser and click on the result or use this link – You will then need to login to your google account in order to access your classroom.

In your reading records you should find your Google Classroom login details stuck in, which has a username and password – you will need to edit it slightly when you login because the whole school has now changed over to using Google. You can now get rid of the “apps” part of your email address

Your password will stay the same.

Once you’ve logged in look for our class name and click on it.

Once you’ve clicked on Class Platypus you will be able to see our class stream where you can post comments and see our Virtual Classroom.

You can access your work by clicking on classwork to see your assignments I’ve set for you.

Welcome Platypuses

This is our new Year 2 class blog. Here you will be able to find information and links to support learning at home. It will also be used to provide remote learning should you be unable to attend school for an extended period of time for any reason.

Here are some key websites and online resources to support home learning

Sumdog – This is a fun game based learning site. I will be able to set you Maths, Grammar and Spelling challenges and quizzes. Your own personal logins are found in your reading records.

White Rose Maths – Here you will be able to watch short home learning videos that follow our Maths curriculum in school.

Busy things – Another great website with lots of online games and activities. Children can access the site for free through the lgfl portal and their school email address and passwords

Oak Academy – This website provides video lessons for all subjects following the year 2 curriculum. – A free website where children can develop their computing and coding skills with fun interactive activities.

Oxford Owl – A website with access to lots of suitable ebooks (username: hmpsks1 password: hmpsks1)
